About Us
HOW WE BEGAN
Listen to Matt Howe, Program Director of The Plymouth House, talk about the 1st Climb Above Addiction, which raised $7,000 for scholarships to The Plymouth House, putting two people through treatment.
WHO WE ARE
We are Plymouth State University social entrepreneurs. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds to fight the addiction crisis. In an event similar to a fundraiser walk or 5K run, each team or participant gathers donations from sponsors to support a day of activities which symbolize "Climbing Above Addiction." Participants can "Climb Above Addiction" from anywhere in the world by gaining sponsors and donating online.
WHAT WE DO
We seek to raise awareness of the addiction epidemic and to Climb Above Addiction by supporting prevention and recovery in collaboration with our community partners. The $10,000 raised from the 2019 Climb Above Addiction team (photo above) contributed to the work of CADY (Communities for Alcohol- and Drug-Free Youth). Their mission is to prevent and reduce youth alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and to promote healthy environments and promising futures. On the side is a video of Alex's Story, a young man who struggled with addiction and tells his story through the work of CADY.
